  • Go to Dashboard > Create Product.
  • Enter a product name (e.g., “Custom Photo Frame”).
  • Add frame style and size variants.
  • Save the product — it will appear in your Shopify product catalog.
Step 2: Configure Frame Styles Add the frame images and styles that customers will choose from.
  • Navigate to Frames in the sidebar.
  • Click Add Frame to upload a frame image and set its name.
  • Repeat for each frame style you want to offer.
Step 3: Configure Size Options Define the available frame sizes and mat values.
  • Navigate to Sizes in the sidebar.
  • Click Add Size to define width, height, and mat dimensions.
  • Sizes will appear as selectable options in the customer-facing customizer.
Step 4: Configure Color Options Set up color options for your frames.
  • Navigate to Colors in the sidebar.
  • Click Add Color to add a color name and hex value.
  • Colors appear as swatches in the customer customizer.
Step 5: Enable Theme App Extension Activate the Photo Frame Customizer extension in your Shopify theme.
  • Go to your Shopify admin: Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  • Find the App Embeds or App Blocks section.
  • Enable Photo Frame Customizer.
  • Save your theme.
Complete all five steps before testing the customizer on your storefront. The customizer widget will not appear until the theme extension is enabled.
